-- A Toast To 2007 --

As the last day of 2007 is fast approaching, it is now a time to look back on the this last year.

What have I done?? What has happened?? ... Started uni. Reached the milestone of 18 years. Made new friends. Visited QLD yet again. Got myself a job (how very unlike me is that?! ... special thanks to jeanette for all your help and guidance these past few months - i will miss working with you) Got sick and got 'high'. Basically: struggled through a year of uni.

Where am i sitting now?? At home (haha). Well i can't run due to a screwed up foot. Just enjoyed a beautiful Christmas (with too much chocolate!!). And am now in that inbetween period of anxious wishing that the year never ends... To this day, that wish has never come true.

Apparantly it is the time for toasts. I would like to make a toast here for everybody: you are all awesome people and if only some of you knew how much your friendship means to me. ... a toast to this past year and all that it's taught me.

But no matter what 2007 brought each of us, we can probably all agree it was a very busy year, and that post-Christmas days on the beach are looking more and more attractive.

I love you all and hope that you strive to make each coming year better than the last.

Pizza Overload

I have had pizza 4 days in a row now. Saturday night, sunday lunch, last night and today lunch. Except Sunday's pizza was so gourmet that you could barely call it pizza. But still.

And results come out tomorrow. Don't really care. Just want to see how yr 12 ppl go. Cos their results come out tomorrow too. ... well that's not true. I do care. I'm just not worried about it or anything atm. ... Take each day as it comes.

My brother had his yr 6 farewell last night. (he's in yr 5 though, but they go too). He looked so good. White "skate shoes", black skinny leg jeans, nice white shirt, & black hat. Got a photo, so will put it on my myspace (www.myspace.com/ems_kate) and/or facebook for those of you who are interested.

Massively tired. Got paid yesterday!! Feel sick. But excited at the same time! and then there's the stress. Gotta love it! haha

Fun weekend

8 sleeps to go! It so doesnt feel like it. Christmas has come around so fast this yr... I havnt even done all my christmas shopping yet!! But it's still exciting.

This weekend has been fun! Except now im slightly tired. Friday was kinda normal. Went to swim club Friday night and Cam was there, so it was good to catch up with him. Then afterwards, Ashley and I went and looked at Christmas lights in Mt Colah. So that was fun.
Saturday mum and I went and did some Christmas shopping. Saturday night we went to friends house for dinner. Megan, Megan and I went to pick up josh (megans friend) then went and got pizza, then after eating dinner we (all the "kids"... megan, megan, josh, matt, sam, dane, brianna and I) sat out the back and played drinking games for however many hours... Was fun and surprisingly i wasn't at all drunk afterwards. Slightly tipsy, but not drunk. And i could get up at 7:30am the next morning and go swimming and win my races in really good times! Crazy. Maybe I should do that every week!! Haha ...
anyway. Santa came to swim club Sunday morning and handed out the awesome lolly bags that i made. Then i raced home to be ready in time for work Christmas lunch. natalia picked me (and amanda) up. Was in Manly, so we had an awesome view of the harbour from the restaurant.
when i got home, megan and i sat on my bed talking and eating lollies for a while. That was fun, cos i havnt had a chance to really talk to her in ages, with exams and then she started her 'internship' a week later and so she has been busy with that. So next week is going to be even more awesome cos she will be home!!

Today... BPS yr 6 farewell... which i have generously agreed to help out with setting up and whatever. So that's gonna take up my afternoon/night. But that's ok.

Yesterday - took two classes at the gym. And then lazed around. And then last night i got my resuscitation certificate again. Test was dead easy this time around. Especially now that they've changed the procedure since i last went for it.

And today. I will blog later about today.

And elise!!!!! She made me get facebook! Well she didnt sit their with a whip and force me to sign up, but almost! haha ... if thats the only way i can see her photots, then of course im gonna join!

Soooo not fair. My uni results come out on the 19th of December, and megan's come out this friday!! ... my mum thinks that's what im stressing about... im not.

2 weeks to go

I somehow dont think i am going to be blogging much this month. It's pretty much half gone and this will only be my 4th entry. But its not like it is that interesting for all you anyway, so its not like it matters.

Today i went to jeff's presentation day, then drove to ashley's... and saw elise, louise and emily! And watched some movies and talked and ate. yay. Then drove home again.

There was a question/poll in the newspaper the other day...
"would you want to live next door to a house blazing with Christmas lights?"
- "yes - you get to enjoy the spectacle without the work or cost"
- "no - nighttime is dark for a reason, even in the festive season"
............ anyone want to respond??? I didnt get to see the results for it, and i was wondering how many scrooges we have in Sydney...??? hahaha

anyway. I am busy talking to xiamung, and am not concentrating on what i am typing here, so pls forgive boringness!

One week into summer

Welcome to Friday the 7th of December. Outside it is currently at 24.3 degrees, and is gradually increasing. And it is summer! ... and has been for the past week. And why does December always seem to pass so fast?? There are only 18 days until Christmas!!!!! ...And soon it will be 2008...

Last night i put a rinse in my hair - natural golden blonde. So no, i am not blonde (thats not what i wanted), but i am more a golden-brown.

I am extremely energetic at the moment!!!! Music up loud and making up aerobics routines for the gym and typing this inbetween songs! (I suppose it's good for losing all my winter flubber haha)

Maybe might see some of you soon?

"Hello. You have won ..."

Tomorrow i am going to the gym (so that will be twice this week). But tomorrow it's only 2 hrs, and i start at 9am which is heaps better than 5:30!! And then i am finally going to get an ultrasound on my foot. It is extremely annoying (cos it is painful and i cant sit in certain ways) but doctors wont operate on it cos it is surrounded by ligaments etc... unless the ultrasound shows something.

20 Ways to Torture Telemarketers!
Sick Of Telemarketers? Try This!!

1. If they want to loan you money, tell them you just filed for bankruptcy and you could sure use some money.
2. If they start out with, "How are you today?" say, "I'm so glad you asked, because no one these days seems to care, and I have all these problems; my arthritis is acting up, my eyelashes are sore, my dog just died..."

3. If they say they're John Doe from XYZ Company, ask them to spell their name. Then ask them to spell the company name. Then ask them where it is located, how long it has been in business, how many people work there, how they got into this line of work, are they married?, kids?, etc. Continue asking them personal questions or questions about their company for as long as necessary.

4. This works great if you are male:
Telemarketer: "Hi, my name is Judy and I'm with XYZ Company..." You: Wait for a second and with a real husky voice ask, "What are you wearing?"

5. Cry out in surprise, "Judy! Is that you? Oh my God! Judy, how have you been?" Hopefully, this will give Judy a few brief moments of terror as she tries to figure out where the hell she could know you from.

6. Say "No", over and over. Be sure to vary the sound of each one, and keep a rhythmic tempo, even as they are trying to speak. This is most fun if you can do it until they hang up.

7. If MCI calls trying to get you to sign up for the Family and Friends Plan, reply, in as SINISTER a voice as you can, "I don't have any friends...would you be my friend?"

8. If the company cleans rugs, respond: "Can you get out blood? Can you get out GOAT blood? How about HUMAN blood?

9. After the Telemarketer gives their spiel, ask him/her to marry you. When they get all flustered, tell them that you could not just give your credit card number to a complete stranger.

10. Tell the Telemarketer that you work for the same company, they often can't sell to employees.

11. Answer the phone. As soon as you realize it is a Telemarketer, set the receiver down, shout or scream, "Oh my God!!!" and then hang up.

12. Tell the Telemarketer you are busy at the moment and ask him/her if he/she will give you his/her HOME phone number so you can call him/her back. When the Telemarketer explains that telemarketers cannot give out their HOME numbers you say "I guess you don't want anyone bothering you at home, right?" The Telemarketer will agree and you say, "Me, either!" Hang up.

13.Ask them to repeat everything they say, several times.

14.Tell them it is dinner time, BUT ask if they would please hold. Put them on your speaker phone while you continue to eat at your leisure. Smack your food loudly and continue with your dinner conversation.

15. Tell the Telemarketer you are on "home incarceration" and ask if they could bring you some beer.

16. Ask them to fax the information to you, and make up a number.

17. Tell the Telemarketer, "Okay, I will listen to you. But I should probably tell you, I'm not wearing any clothes."

18. Insist that the caller is really your buddy Leon, playing a joke. "Come on Leon, cut it out! Seriously, Leon, how's your momma?"

19. Tell them you are hard of hearing and that they need to speak up...louder... louder...louder...

20. Tell them to talk VERY SLOWLY, because you want to write EVERY WORD down.

Just being completely silent, not saying anything, and listening to them say "hello? ... Hello?? ... HELLO??" before they hang up is also effective.

Anyone used any interesting strategies for dealing with such ppl recently???
