Yesterday I got up thinking it would be a nothing sort of a day. But after cooking Megan lunch and reading sunday papers, someone suggested I go driving and someons suggested we go see the Kitty Hawk.
So at about 3:15 we get in the car and I drive us all in to see it (via petrol station where we stocked up on mentos and of course petrol). Well I didn't drive all the way. I drove for an hour and we swapped back over just before we crossed the Anzac Bridge. So that was fun! My first city-ish driving experience. So we continue on, passing Hyde Park, Cook + Phillip Pool, The Domain, The Art Gallery ... and drove out along Mrs Macquaries Point so that we could get a good view of the Kitty Hawk, which was/is stationed in Woolloomooloo Bay. Then we drove around the other side of the bay (via Kings Cross) and got a closer up view of the ship. Was interesting. There were lots of aircraft on board that you could see, (and sailors too!) and there was a frigate floating not too far away as well that we could see. And lots of American flags out in the streets.
So then we headed home via Harbour Bridge and North Sydney/Chatswood way. I got back in to drive at Lindfield and made a slight detour to my uni (mainly for the benefit of Jeff as he has only been there when he was a baby so can't remember it). On the way home I was almost wiped out by a crazy old driver who wanted to drive in two lanes at once. Lucky for me the parking lane next to me was empty and i could pull over a bit, which if i couldn't do then I would have been sideswiped by this crazy car. So proceeded to drive to Mt Colah where we got some pizza (elise you weren't working :( !) and then finally got home about 7pm and watched Ugly Betty and Gray's while eating pizza and chocolate slice. (I made 2 sorts of chocolate slice on Saturday afternoon - one was just plain chocolate slice, the other was peppermint chocolate slice. yum)
And then I went to bed and read a few chapters of The Half-Blood Prince.
So that was my Sunday.
